This position involves providing customers with tailored product suggestions and solutions while exemplifying best practices in retail operations. The primary focus of the Retail Operations Supervisor is on sales, service, and fostering strong customer relationships.
In this leadership capacity, the Retail Operations Supervisor collaborates closely with the store team, sharing product insights, interpreting store communications, and managing daily responsibilities assigned by the Store Manager, including the opening and closing of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and sustaining a welcoming, user-friendly shopping atmosphere.
- Developing and sharing knowledge about products, promotions, services, and loyalty programs tailored to diverse customer needs.
- Supporting store management and the team in achieving operational goals.
- Assisting customers in selecting the ideal cards and gifts to express their sentiments.
- Highlighting stories and communities that embody kindness and connection.
- Ensuring a seamless shopping experience by effectively managing store operations, including inventory management, sales processing, and order fulfillment.
- Delivering an exceptional shopping experience that inspires customers to return.
- Collaborating with the team to meet sales targets, ensuring every customer leaves satisfied.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Completing additional tasks or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Availability to open and close the store a minimum of three (3) times weekly and work two (2) weekend shifts monthly.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that accommodates business needs, including holidays and weekends.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) or more years of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong customer engagement and consultative selling abilities.
- Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient in using technology and computers.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the business.
- Accountability for cash handling and inventory management.
- Ability to assist in training new employees and understanding operational changes.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to stand/walk continuously, lift/carry up to 10 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds. The role may involve exposure to various environmental factors typical in a retail setting.
Employment Status:
This is a full-time, hourly position classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), typically requiring 40 hours of work per week.
