The Maintenance Engineer plays a vital role within our engineering team, overseeing all technical operations within the property. This position involves diagnosing and repairing electrical motors and devices, HVAC systems, plumbing issues, and minor carpentry tasks, alongside basic automotive repairs and painting duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair electrical motors and related equipment.
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Engage in minor carpentry work as needed.
- Safely operate various power tools, including pressure washers and compressors.
- Handle repairs for gas-fired equipment and electronic devices, including audiovisual and office equipment.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and emergencies.
- Adhere to established safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed logs of engineering activities and communications.
- Assist in the relocation and access of various objects as required.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of the resort's fire, well water, septic, and irrigation systems.
- Support sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of the Planet Auberge program.
Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of two years of experience in maintenance roles within high-rise buildings, spas, or restaurants.
3. Familiarity with equipment typically found in high-rise facilities.
4. Knowledge of locksmithing and pool maintenance is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities:
1. Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Strong customer service orientation.
4. Ability to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
5. Competence in using common tools effectively.
6. Capability to follow instructions accurately.
7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
1. Adequate color vision and hearing.
2. Ability to lift and push weights of at least 50 and 100 pounds, respectively.
3. Capability to climb ladders and perform various physical tasks as required.
