Position Overview

The Hardware Asset Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing IT assets throughout their entire lifecycle. This position involves collaborating closely with technical teams and various stakeholders, including Finance, Procurement, and Service Desk, to ensure compliance with established procedures at each stage of the asset lifecycle. The specialist is tasked with establishing, enforcing, and continuously enhancing asset management processes, standards, and controls. A keen attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential for optimizing the utilization of IT assets in alignment with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and uphold IT asset management protocols and guidelines to ensure compliance with ITIL best practices.
  • Participate in regular physical inventories of hardware, including monthly and quarterly assessments.
  • Utilize access and usage reports to assist in locating missing IT equipment.
  • Generate reports from the IT inventory system as necessary.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, Procurement, and Finance to manage costs and budget effectively.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process enhancements and cost efficiencies.
Education Requirements
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Experience Requirements
  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience with ServiceNow, specifically in asset management and reporting.
  • Required: At least 3 years of experience in Asset Management or a related field.
  • Required: Advanced understanding of IT asset management principles and practices.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong accountability and commitment to high standards.
  • Proven ability to independently identify and resolve issues, demonstrating sound judgment.
  • Willingness to take initiative in uncertain or ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to align diverse stakeholders and represent a unified perspective.

  • Understanding of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) principles is essential.
  • Capability to analyze data for informed decision-making regarding asset utilization and optimization.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and navigate multiple stockrooms.
