Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at the Clovis Civic Center. As a key member of our food and beverage operations, you will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a positive and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of 35 full-time and part-time culinary employees, including hiring, training, and disciplining.
  • Ensure event staff are aware of workplace expectations and provide ongoing assistance, training, and mentoring.
  • Control labor costs through effective scheduling and cross-training of kitchen staff.
  • Ensure that food products meet our standards of quality and consistency, and monitor production to ensure recipe specifications, portion controls, and kitchen timings are met.
  • Supervise all line set-up, prep, and breakdown activities, and coordinate the storage, maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a positive and compliant employee relations climate, and ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations.
  • Organize employee work schedules, ensure appropriate coverage for all kitchen areas, and staff compliance with venue uniform policy.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years kitchen management experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue.
  • Demonstrated and verifiable track record of meeting projected costs.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required by state or local government.
  • Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program.
  • Technical proficiency and experience demonstrating verifiable knowledge of food preparation methods.
  • Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities, including co-workers, subordinates, guests, and purveyors in a variety of work situations.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $52,000 to $54,000, as well as benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 12 holidays).

This position will remain open until November 20, 2024.
