Role Summary:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) plays a crucial role in the emergency department, reporting directly to the ER supervisor and the director of nursing. This position is responsible for the coordination and delivery of nursing care to patients in urgent situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs in emergency scenarios.
- Document initial observations and changes in patient conditions, providing timely reports to healthcare providers to prevent deterioration.
- Utilize available resources effectively to enhance patient care.
- Establish care priorities during critical situations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage patient admissions and discharges, ensuring all necessary assessments and treatments are completed.
Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and hold a valid nursing license in the state of Florida.
Experience: A minimum of three years in medical/surgical nursing is required, with at least one year of experience in emergency or critical care preferred.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required, with the option to obtain ACLS and PALS within three months of hire.
This role is essential in ensuring that our emergency department operates smoothly and that patients receive the highest quality of care.
