Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Cynet Health is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to mothers and newborns during the labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor patients throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
  • Identify complications during labor and take appropriate action.
  • Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
  • Perform basic IV and central line skills.
  • Perform phlebotomy skills.
  • Administer pain medication as ordered.
  • Take and record patient's vital signs.
  • Read fetal monitor and identify any problems with the baby's heart rate.
  • Identify and manage life-sustaining physiological functions in unstable patients.
  • Check patient's cervix periodically to monitor progression or lack of dilation.
  • Ensure patient's bed is kept dry and clean.
  • Contacts anesthesia when the patient is ready for an epidural.
  • Cares for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4, and continuous lumbar epidural.
  • Ensures patient is in proper position for delivery and all monitoring equipment is functioning properly.
  • Aids doctor with drapes, gloves, gowns, etc.
  • Assist MD in Operating Room for C-Section.
  • Proficient in Cardiac Arrest Team Member.
  • Immediate care of newborn (clean, weigh, etc.).
  • Gives Apgar scores.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current nursing license, in good standing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year Labor and Delivery (L/D) experience.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN. Fetal Monitoring.
