Occupational Therapist Job Description

LHC Group is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in Marrero, Louisiana.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Deliver direct treatment to individuals and groups, including exercises and activities to promote independence and mobility.
  • Supervise the delivery of treatment by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) or technicians.
  • Develop and implement home exercise programs to support patient recovery and independence.
  • Provide patient and family education on adaptive equipment, safety, and disease management.
  • Participate in team and family conferences to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Evaluate and select adaptive equipment to support patient needs.
  • Document services according to hospital and department standards.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Successful completion of the National Registry exam.
  • Current license in Occupational Therapy in the state of practice.
  • CPR certification.
  • Membership or certification in a national association (as applicable).
