Position Summary:

We are currently in search of a full-time Senior Bridge Maintenance Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts landscape upkeep tasks such as mowing, applying herbicides and fertilizers, controlling weeds, and performing seasonal clean-up activities.
  • Maintains stormwater drainage systems and manages bridge slope cleanliness.
  • Handles general maintenance tasks including litter and debris removal.
  • Executes concrete repairs on sidewalks, bridges, and overpasses.
  • Operates at heights on and beneath bridges while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Repairs asphalt surfaces by filling and patching potholes.
  • Implements Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) procedures and temporary traffic management.
  • Responds to emergency incidents during scheduled on-call rotations.
  • Performs inspections before and after trips.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on company vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilizes various equipment such as edgers, blowers, dump trailers, and chain saws.
  • Drives company vehicles, including towing trailers and operating rolling arrow boards as needed.
  • Records maintenance work orders and checklists both manually and electronically.
  • Loads and unloads necessary equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Ensures safe use of all tools and equipment.
  • Oversees work orders related to specific bridge characteristics and assigns tasks to team members, verifying their completion.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Capacity to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Experience working near roadways and highways with active traffic.
  • 3-5 years of experience in roadway and bridge operations, construction, utilities, or landscaping.
  • Willingness to obtain MOT certification (training provided by Versar).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests.
  • Compliance with company drug and alcohol policies.
  • Authorization to work in the US by the start date.

Preferred Skills:

  • CDL A license.
  • Experience with heavy equipment operation.
  • MOT Certification.
  • Agricultural Pesticide Applicator's License.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.

Work Environment:

This position primarily involves onsite work.

Compensation:

Salary range: $22/hr - $25/hr, based on qualifications and experience.
