Position Overview: As a Modeling and Simulation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering essential support to IT initiatives. This diverse position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Strategic Development: Formulate and execute a detailed modeling and simulation strategy that aligns with the organization’s objectives. Identify opportunities to utilize modeling and simulation for decision-making, training, analysis, and research.
- Technical Leadership: Act as the primary resource for all aspects of modeling and simulation. Keep abreast of industry standards, emerging technologies, and advancements in the domain. Leverage this expertise to guide strategic initiatives.
- Model Creation: Spearhead the creation of advanced models and simulations or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tailored to meet specific organizational requirements. Ensure these models accurately reflect real-world systems and phenomena.
- Analytical Evaluation: Perform comprehensive analyses utilizing modeling and simulation tools to assess scenarios, systems, and processes. Provide insights and recommendations based on simulation results to support decision-makers.
- Integration of Simulations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed modeling and simulation into various projects, programs, and training efforts. Ensure smooth integration and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Training Development: Create and deliver training programs aimed at educating staff and stakeholders on modeling and simulation principles, tools, and methodologies. Promote a culture of simulation literacy within the organization.
- Research and Development: Participate in research and development initiatives to enhance modeling and simulation capabilities. Identify and adopt innovative techniques and technologies to boost simulation accuracy and efficiency.
- Quality Control: Establish and uphold quality assurance protocols for modeling and simulation activities. Ensure that models are validated, verified, and meet established standards for precision and reliability.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, analysts, and decision-makers, to ascertain modeling and simulation needs and objectives. Translate these requirements into actionable simulation projects.
- Documentation and Communication: Prepare clear and detailed reports, documentation, and presentations summarizing modeling and simulation findings, methodologies, and recommendations. Effectively communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Continuous Enhancement: Regularly evaluate and refine modeling and simulation processes and methodologies. Seek feedback and lessons learned to drive improvements.
