Job Summary:
The Valparaiso Family YMCA is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Teacher to join our Early Childhood Education team. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and delivering age-appropriate educational programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health and safety of all children, while overseeing the creation and delivery of off-site, age-appropriate educational preschool programs.
- Positively engage with members and families to enhance their experience and their children's growth at our facility.
- Deliver high-quality educational programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the YMCA's educational goals.
- Provide feedback and address concerns in a courteous manner, modeling active listening, reflection, and response skills in all interactions.
- Assist children with potty training and change diapers as needed.
- Adhere to work schedule and substitute for other staff as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum age 21 required.
- Current CDA Credential or an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or a BS Degree in Elementary Education required.
- Previous experience in child supervision and education preferred.
- Previous experience in supervision preferred.
