Body Shop Estimator

At Tesla, we are seeking a highly skilled Body Shop Estimator to join our progressive vehicle brand team. This role involves supporting the Body Repair Program in all aspects, leveraging technical estimating expertise to deliver world-class services for customers.

The successful candidate will create repair estimates for Collision Damaged Tesla Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles, building repair plans in accordance with Tesla-specific procedures. This includes documenting damages requiring repair or parts replacement with photos, directing disassembly technicians to expose all damages up front, ordering replacement parts from Tesla Warehouse, and communicating with insurance companies to submit claims and billing.

• Create accurate and detailed repair estimates for collision-damaged vehicles
• Build and implement repair plans in accordance with Tesla's specific procedures
• Document damages and required repairs or parts replacements with photos
• Direct disassembly technicians to expedite damage exposure
• Order replacement parts from Tesla Warehouse and monitor delivery
• Communicate with insurance companies to submit claims and billing
• Manage time effectively to meet daily requirements of fully blueprinting vehicles
• Update customers on vehicle progress and ensure timely delivery

• 5+ years of experience in automotive collision damage estimating
• Knowledge of insurance procedures and requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• I-CAR certification preferred
• Proficient with computers, CCC, Audatex, or Mitchell Estimating Software
• Excellent customer service skills
• Automotive knowledge and background
• Prior work references and willingness to be cross-trained in career-advancing management roles as needed
