At Transportation Equipment Network, we are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our team. As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Brake System Maintenance: Perform brake jobs, replace S-cam bushings, brake chambers, and air valves, and ensure proper brake system function.
  • Suspension and Alignment: Demonstrate a basic understanding of spring and air ride suspensions, and perform proper alignment procedures, including R&R torque arms, equalizers, and springs.
  • Axle and Wheel End Maintenance: Have complete knowledge of axle wheel end assemblies, including proper installation of hub and drum assemblies, bearings, seals, and races, and ensure proper torque procedures for axle nut installation.
  • Electrical System Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair all aspects of electrical wiring systems, including lights, 7-way receptacles, interior lighting, and switches.
  • Body and Undercarriage Maintenance: Demonstrate the ability to perform minor body repairs and maintenance, including R&R body side panels and posts, swing and roll-door panels, roof and floor sections, and undercarriage maintenance and repairs.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Demonstrate the ability to weld steel components from various positions.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper hand tools and equipment are available to perform all tasks, and maintain major shop equipment and large shop tools provided by the company.
