Job Title: Tool & Die Maker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to join our team. As a Tool & Die Maker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining tools and dies for our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build tools and dies using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve tooling efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve machining-related problems.
  • Read and understand CAD, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of parts.
  • Provide dies that are ready for production.
  • Repair or manufacture parts to maintain production tooling.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, EDMs, lathes, and grinders.
  • Calculate and set up controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, cushion pressures, etc. for computerized machine control.
  • Validate parts on PG, UCF, or parts gauge quality of finished work piece to specifications.
  • Maintain, lubricate, and clean molds and recommend improvements for cycle preventive maintenance.
  • Perform general maintenance on Toolroom equipment.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in Tool & Die, Progressive, Line Dies, Tandem Lines, Compound Tooling, etc.
  • 6-10 years of experience in Tool & Die in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices for New Product Launch, Die Maintenance, and Corrective Action Measures.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Thorough knowledge of tool room machines, inspection, measuring, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
