Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the established scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also oversees and instructs patient and family education as well as the activities of other nursing staff while upholding care standards within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care provided to assigned patients and must communicate with physicians regarding any changes in the patients' clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology. The ability to respond swiftly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses is essential.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Current ACLS certification preferred within 30 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Prior experience in an Acute Care hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience in Ventilator Management preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
