Job OpportunityScience Academies of New York in Syracuse, NY is seeking a qualified High School Mathematics Teacher to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching high school students in the subject of mathematics and related sub-topics.Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students using various teaching methods, such as lectures and demonstrations, using audio-visual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
  • Prepare mathematics course objectives and outlines for courses of study following curriculum guidelines and school requirements.
  • Assign lessons and correct homework, administer tests to evaluate student progress and keep attendance records.
  • Meet with parents to discuss progress and problems as needed.
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
  • Perform related duties, such as sponsoring student activities or student organizations.
  • Assist students in selecting courses of study, and counseling students in academic progress.
Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field and 2 years of experience as a High School Math Teacher are required. Salary: $60,990 per year.
