About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Blood Bank Technologist to join our team at Paoli Hospital. As a Blood Bank Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transfusion of blood and blood products to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures on blood and blood products as prescribed by physicians.
  • Work with the latest technology and a top-notch interdisciplinary team to support patients and the community.
  • Manage inventory and replace blood products from suppliers.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Requirements:

  • Previous Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience is preferred.
  • Skills necessary to perform procedures in the Laboratory Procedures manual include specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of test results.
  • Ability to distinguish color differences.
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrument problems.
  • Previous laboratory computer system experience preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Graduation from an approved Clinical Laboratory Scientist program or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
