JOB SUMMARY & KEY OBJECTIVES

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the strategic planning, leadership, and oversight of maintenance initiatives and systems. Collaborate with the Management Team to devise innovative solutions and recommendations aimed at enhancing and sustaining facility machinery and operational processes. Foster a culture centered on safety in all aspects of manufacturing. Engage actively with team members and management, particularly within maintenance, to promote the significance of food safety and quality throughout the organization. This role requires a hands-on approach.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


• The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor serves as a key representative to both clients and regulatory bodies.


• This role is primarily accountable for formulating and executing maintenance policies and procedures, ensuring that all maintenance operations comply with regulatory standards and industry best practices.


• The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor provides direct leadership to maintenance personnel (both exempt and non-exempt) and offers indirect guidance to other departments including Operations, R&D, and Quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS


• Conduct routine inspections to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of all facility areas.


• Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to coordinate and align all maintenance projects, including weekly and daily work schedules with other departments.


• Maintain comprehensive records of all daily maintenance and service activities conducted within the facility.


• Oversee the contracting and management of all maintenance personnel and activities within the facilities.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance by establishing goals and identifying key performance indicators relevant to this area of the business.


• Partner with FSQA and R&D to ensure thorough investigation of all maintenance-related issues, utilizing root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures; respond to issues within the required timeframe while analyzing complaint trends.


• Support the development and implementation of new food products and strategies for clients, collaborating with R&D and FSQA to refine and enhance processing for products.


• Stay informed about industry advancements and technologies to ensure that clients benefit from the latest innovations in manufacturing processes and equipment design.


• Ensure the efficient procurement of maintenance spare parts, inventory, and new equipment.


• Make recommendations and participate in the recruitment of maintenance team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION


• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.


• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor within the food manufacturing sector.


• Extensive experience in PLC programming, including the diagnosis of existing programs and the design and implementation of new projects.


• In-depth knowledge of PLC automation software and programming languages.


• Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD software.


• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and team-building skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage tasks without supervision.


• Capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.


• Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheets, statistical software, and ERP systems.


• Strong skills in statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


• Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree in engineering, administration, maintenance, or personnel management from an accredited institution.


• Experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering is preferred.


• Lean Six Sigma training or black belt certification is advantageous.
