Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at PACS Inc. As an OTA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our occupational therapists in delivering exceptional rehabilitation services.
Key Responsibilities- Treat patients as directed by the occupational therapist, ensuring accurate and timely implementation of treatment plans.
- Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes, adhering to OT Board and governmental requirements.
- Assist the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Participate in in-service training programs for staff, enhancing knowledge and skills to provide exceptional patient care.
- Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation, ensuring compliance with Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental requirements.
- Instruct patient families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training, preparing patients for discharge from therapy services.
- Participate in discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition for patients and families.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Report any equipment issues to ensure timely maintenance and optimal functionality.
- Licensed as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant, Board of the State.
- Proficient in computer skills, including data input into programs like Casamba and Point Click Care.
- Ability to read technical procedures, policy and procedure manuals, and effectively present information to various audiences.
- Mathematical skills to apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.
The essential functions of this position require frequent standing and/or walking, occasional sitting, and regular reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, and hearing.
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionally.
Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception in vision, with ability to adjust focus.
