Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

We seek an experienced and dedicated Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner to join our team in New York City. As a specialist in pulmonology, you will work collaboratively with pulmonologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with respiratory disorders and diseases.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with respiratory symptoms and conditions, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
  • Collaborate with pulmonologists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases, incorporating evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
  • Perform pulmonary function testing (PFT), including spirometry, lung volumes, and diffusion capacity, and interpret test results to assess lung function and diagnose respiratory disorders.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on respiratory health, disease management, medication adherence, inhaler techniques, smoking cessation, and environmental triggers to promote optimal lung function and improve quality of life.
Requirements
  • A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED); and
  • Current certificate as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the NYSED; and
  • Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
