Surgical Instrument Specialist

A Surgical Instrument Specialist plays a vital role in the operating room, ensuring that all surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This individual is responsible for monitoring PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies, as well as participating in staff meetings and performance improvement activities. Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Instrument Specialist works to provide a safe and efficient surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintains a clean and organized operating room environment
Assists in the preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment
Participates in staff meetings and performance improvement activities
Works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse

Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent
Graduate of approved Certified Scrub School with certification preferred, or one (1) year of on-the-job experience
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
Additional languages preferred
