Job Overview

Defense Maritime Solutions Inc is seeking a highly skilled Diving Specialist to join our team on an on-call basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining proficiency in underwater tasks and adhering to all diving regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accomplish all tasks assigned by the Diving Supervisor, reporting any concerns or qualifications issues immediately.
  • Comply with all policies and regulations related to diving operations, ensuring the safe use and maintenance of diving equipment.
  • Report any medical treatment or illness to the Diving Supervisor, and immediately report any symptoms or suspected symptoms.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel and tenders, and maintain a diver's logbook detailing all dives, medical examinations, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure medical certificates are up-to-date and recorded in the logbook, and present the logbook to the Diving Supervisor on every job.
  • Comply with established quality management system (QMS) processes and procedures, and complete administrative office duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of a professional diving school
  • A minimum of two years of actual underwater work experience
  • Ability to pass the written Diver 3 test with a score of at least 80%
  • Demonstrated diving ability and preferably 50 or more working dives
  • Demonstrated ability to plan dive operations requiring decompression and repetitive dives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of normal decompression and treatment tables
  • Documented 100 days minimum field experience on diving jobs
  • Ability to pass an annual diving physical, with significant physical effort required
  • Willingness to accept exposure to physical risk
  • U.S. Government security clearance desired
  • Possession of a current U.S. Passport, ADCI Card, and TWIC Card
  • Ability and willingness to travel worldwide, on short notice for indefinite periods
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing

Work Environment:

The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
