Job Summary:

Nexstar Media Group is seeking a skilled Visual Journalist to join our team. As a Visual Journalist, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality video and images to tell compelling stories for our news broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.
• Shoot video for news reports, including live shots and interviews.
• Confer with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics, and shot requirements.
• Set up, compose, and execute video shots, ensuring high-quality footage.
• Maintain and operate video equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
• Edit video clips for television broadcasts and online content.
• Operate live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum two years' experience operating video recording equipment, with more experience preferred for larger markets.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
• Proficiency with video recording equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
