Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the MICU in Manhattan. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process and pertinent standards of care, diagnosing illnesses and physical conditions, and performing therapeutic measures for designated patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize patient care to meet individual needs and ensure efficient clinical resource utilization per protocols and pathways.
  • Monitor and analyze the cost-effectiveness of the position, particularly as it relates to established performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with nursing and other disciplines to develop and implement clinical studies within the area of expertise.
  • Use evidence-based healthcare literature to advise and support appropriate practice changes within the designated service.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of patient outcomes per established practice protocols for quality and performance improvement.
  • Serve as a clinical expert and resource for peer education and other health professionals.
  • Maintain current expertise in the area of practice and promote professional growth and development.
  • Consider patient needs and behaviors across different age and cultural groups in all patient care.
  • Evaluate treatment and health care plans for effectiveness and modify them according to clinical standards and practice protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with attending physicians, consulting physicians, and other disciplines to identify, develop, and implement an appropriate plan of care that maximizes patient/family preference and enhances quality, access, and cost-effective outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Licensure: Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and Registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
  • Education: Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Certification required (as soon as feasible following graduation from NP graduate program) by ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice.
  • BLS or ACLS, PALS, NRP Provider; (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), NALS per delineation of privileges.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $163,124.40. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
