Recreational Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapy Specialist to join our team at the Patuxent Correctional Institution. As a key member of our multidisciplinary treatment team, you will use recreational and social activities to help patients achieve treatment objectives and build essential skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recovery-based, skill-building strategies to enhance patients' recreation and leisure activities.
  • Assist patients in building adaptive and independent living skills.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to provide comprehensive care.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in the social sciences (psychology, social work, or counseling).
  • Specific training in Recreational Therapy.
  • Two or more years of experience providing comprehensive art/recreational therapy services.
  • Experience working in corrections preferred.
