Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team. As a Cardiac Cath Lab RN, you will provide direct patient care to cardiac patients and communicate with physicians continuously to ensure patient safety during procedures. You will work closely with Cardiology Service Leaders and Providers to assess, plan, implement, and collaborate on patient care, reflecting our mission, vision, and values.

Essential Functions

  • Provide intensive, direct patient care to Cardiac Catheterization lab patient populations in moderate sedation, circulating, and monitoring roles.
  • Perform patient assessment and document in patient records.
  • Develop age-appropriate plans of care addressing physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
  • Implement plans of care, delegate appropriately, and ensure documentation of interventions.
  • Evaluate progress towards desired outcomes, revise plans of care, and intervene as necessary.
  • Educate patients and families about current health status, plans of care, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Provide service excellence to all customers.
  • Demonstrate efficient time management and prioritization skills.
  • Maintain professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing, and continuing education.
  • Practice fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Actively participate in hospital committees, CQI teams, and Quality Improvement Programs.
  • Maintain clean and safe environments.
  • May be required to work on other nursing units according to staff distribution and patient needs.
  • Adequately assess and reassess pain and respond quickly to changes in patient status.
  • Communicate openly and efficiently with physicians, patients, and Cardiac Cath lab staff regarding patient conditions.
  • Maintain cardiac cath lab supplies and inventory.
  • Assist in recording, storing, retrieving, and analyzing data obtained during cardiovascular procedures.
  • Monitor, scrub, and/or circulate on Cath lab procedures.
  • Function independently in respective home departments.
  • Comply with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program, including laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving healthcare and financial practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
  • Licensure: Wyoming RN license.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Cath lab/ICU/PACU nursing preferred.
  • Certifications: See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.

  • The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and certifications as required.
  • Ability to assess patient conditions, formulate plans of care, select appropriate interventions, and evaluate patient responses.
  • Ability to handle emergency high-stress situations during high-risk procedures.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously under stressful conditions.
  • Analytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration and memory.
  • Ability to speak clearly to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of developmental stages and apply developmental theories when planning care.

Compensation

$70,000 - $90,000 per year based on experience.
