Employee Benefits Analyst Program Overview

The Employee Benefits Analyst Program at USI Insurance Services is a comprehensive training program designed to equip associates with technical expertise in financial analysis and benefit plan strategies.

Through this twelve-month program, associates will join a mentorship business group led by industry experts to develop skills and increase role-specific levels of responsibility.

The program also offers opportunities to network with senior executives and team members across business lines, as well as participate in community service through the USI Gives Back campaign.

Key Program Components
  • Immersive training in employee benefit consulting, including the USI ONE Advantage processes and best practices
  • Over 950 hours of formalized training sessions and practical hands-on work experience
  • Structured program with phases of 100%, 50%, and 20% training, respectively
Responsibilities and Expectations

As an Employee Benefits Analyst, you will assist in all aspects of benefit plan financial analysis and reporting, including:

  • Creating financial deliverables for business segment clients
  • Utilizing analytical tools, checklists, and templates to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Requesting, evaluating, and illustrating insurance carrier renewals and new business proposals
  • Preparing market review analyses, funding projections, and claims utilization analyses
  • Performing technical review of insurance contracts and funding arrangements
  • Assisting with the negotiation of premium rates and benefit features
  • Writing client executive summaries noting observations and findings
  • Setting priorities and managing workflow of a partial book of business
  • Participating in the peer review process
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including building financial tables and illustrations and working with data
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Exercise time management skills and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment
  • Demonstrate a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
