About the Role

DCS Corp is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Structural Engineer to support the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) Modeling, Analysis, and Tools Support (SEMATS) 3 contract.

This exciting opportunity will enable the selected candidate to further the USAF SEEK EAGLE aircraft/store compatibility effort, as well as broader USAF goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the structural integrity of aircraft, weapons, and suspension carriage systems based on approved loads, stress analysis, and test methods, and provide sound carriage limit recommendations.
  • Develop and execute sophisticated aircraft load prediction tools for predicting aircraft and weapon inertia and aerodynamic loads and environments.
  • Develop and execute safe, efficient flight test plans.
  • Reduce and interpret flight test data.
  • Assess analysis approaches and results, define any required testing, and ensure all structural integrity requirements are met.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Mid-Level: Bachelor degree with 8 or more years of demonstrated experience in an applicable engineering discipline, familiar with aerospace airworthiness requirements/processes, or a Master's degree with 6 or more years' experience with an ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Senior Level: Bachelor degree with 15 or more years of demonstrated experience in an applicable engineering discipline, familiar with aerospace airworthiness requirements/processes, or a Master's degree with 6 or more years' experience with an ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months.
Desired Skills
  • Experience in weapon systems development, integration, structural analysis, and testing.
  • 15 years of experience with aerospace design and analysis methods, including external loads, internal loads, and stress analysis methods, and ground and flight testing.
  • Working knowledge of strength of materials, aerodynamics, numerical analyses, and computer programming.
  • Ability to modify existing analysis software for predicting aircraft and store loads.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Fortran, Python, C/C++).
  • Skills in Finite Element Modeling and Analysis methods.
