Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the treatment process operations at the assigned plant, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of plant operators, providing guidance and support to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance plant efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of plant operations.
  • Monitor and control chemical feeds, sampling, testing, and reporting of raw and treated water.
  • Perform complex calculations and data analysis to optimize treatment process operations.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports of plant operations and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for plant operators.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement training programs for plant operators.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Relevant 4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and relevant plant operation or other relevant work experience in a comparable treatment plant setting, with a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Class I Operators License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled or required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
