The Clinical Trainer will be responsible for onboarding and educating new clinical staff on delivering patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards. This role is integral to our training team, ensuring that new hires receive outstanding support and guidance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication abilities, critical thinking, and the capacity for independent decision-making. Adherence to safety protocols and participation in safety training programs is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructs new clinical personnel on greeting patients professionally, ensuring efficient patient flow, and assisting with discharge procedures.
- Teaches staff how to gather patient histories, assess and triage patients, measure vital signs, and document findings accurately.
- Guides new hires in explaining treatment processes and preparing examination rooms for healthcare providers.
- Trains on administering injections, medications, and performing various clinical procedures under provider supervision.
- Conducts diagnostic tests and trains staff on operating medical equipment.
- Educates on performing lab tests, collecting specimens, and managing laboratory processes.
- Instructs on occupational health protocols and ensures compliance with laboratory preparation standards.
- Trains on medication administration procedures, including patient identification and documentation requirements.
- Teaches staff how to perform wound care, including suture removal and dressing changes.
- Provides guidance on assisting with basic radiological procedures.
- Instructs on accurate medical charting, follow-up appointment scheduling, and patient callbacks.
- Trains on inventory management for medical supplies and equipment quality checks.
- Other responsibilities as assigned, recognizing the safety-sensitive nature of this position.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an LPN program with a valid nursing license in the state of employment.
- Preferred graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certifications:
- Must hold DOT Urine Drug Screen Collector and DOT BAT certifications.
- Current BLS certification is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience as an LPN or Medical Assistant, ideally in an urgent care environment.
- Ability to follow clinic protocols independently.
- Emotional maturity and effective stress management skills.
Skills:
- Proficient in computer skills and medical terminology.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- Capability to assist patients using mobility aids.
- Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal communication skills.
