Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Monitor Technician to join our team at Inova Center for Personalized Health. As a Monitor Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretations, measuring EKG waveforms, and performing cardiac monitoring to ensure accurate capture of potential cardiac events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret EKG rhythms and waveforms to determine appropriate treatment of arrhythmias and immediate intervention of life-threatening situations.
  • Measure EKG waveforms using accepted standards and guidelines to provide current data required for treatment.
  • Perform cardiac monitoring by continuously observing monitor screens for proper waveform on each telemetry patient to prevent loss of signal and ensure accurate capture of potential cardiac events.
  • Recognize, record, and inform nurses of abnormalities/changes in patient waveforms.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Admit and discharge patients out of telemetry system in accordance with unit policy.
  • Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives as evidenced by attendance at staff meetings and verbalizing understanding of unit initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: High School or GED
  • Experience: Prior telemetry monitoring experience/EKG monitoring in a hospital setting REQUIRED
