POSITION: End-of-Line Packaging Specialist
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
LOCATION: Lebanon, KY
SHIFT: Evening, Night
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary function of this role involves the careful inspection and packaging of tubes into designated boxes. The inspection process includes checking for:
- Color consistency and variation
- Presence of caps (both high and missing)
- Quality of print and enamel
- Physical defects such as dents, bends, and holes
- Integrity of cold seals and internal coatings
- Foreign materials within the tubes
Any tubes that do not meet the established quality standards must be rejected and not packed. In cases of recurring quality issues, it is essential to request corrective actions from the Line Operator or Supervisor.
It is also important to promptly inform the Supervisor, QA Auditor, and line team of any quality concerns that arise. Monitoring scrap levels and reporting any issues is crucial to maintaining acceptable scrap rates.
Responsibilities include stacking completed boxes on skids, preparing them for shipment (including the use of plastic sheets, corner boards, and strapping), and moving skids within the facility using a hand-jack.
Understanding and utilizing specification sheets is vital to ensure that the correct materials are used and that packing adheres to the job specifications.
Accurate completion of forms and labels is required, along with accountability for the information and reports generated.
Maintaining cleanliness in the work area and assisting with line cleanups, including machinery, is expected.
Assisting with line changeovers, including purging and cleaning, is part of the role. Temporary relief of Line Operators may also be required.
Adjustments and setups of automatic packing machines are part of the responsibilities.
Team collaboration is encouraged to foster a positive work environment.
Compliance with health and safety regulations is mandatory.
This position requires regular and punctual attendance.
Training of new hires assigned to this role is also a responsibility.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should possess the following:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should have at least one year of experience in a packing role. A background in quality assurance is advantageous.
