Healthcare Support Specialist

The Brooklyn Hospital Center seeks a skilled Patient Care Associate to provide high-quality patient care and support under the guidance of a Registered Professional Nurse. This role involves implementing selected aspects of the patient's nursing plan of care within the limits of on-the-job training and in accordance with the hospital's mission and goals.
Responsibilities- Provide basic nursing care to patients, including vital sign monitoring and documentation.
- Implement selected aspects of the patient's nursing plan of care, as directed by the Registered Professional Nurse.
- Assist with phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, and rapid COVID testing.
- Perform quality electrocardiogram tests and document results in designated systems.
- Participate in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training and Certification.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Completion of Medical Assistant program (highly preferred).
- Completion of an EKG/Phlebotomy training program from an accredited institution.
- One year of patient care experience in a healthcare facility.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
