Job Summary:

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry to join our team. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality patient care and developing your clinical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical/surgical nursing care to adult patients, focusing on helping each patient achieve their optimum health potential.
  • Assess patients' physical, social, and behavioral, mental status through direct observation, interview, and medical record review.
  • Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition, and adjust the plan of care as appropriate.
  • Obtain baseline strips each shift on all monitored patients and document a nursing assessment to include psychosocial, environmental factors, educational level, and needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team and report changes and deteriorating conditions.
  • Initiate and discontinue monitoring equipment on admission, transfers, and discharge as ordered.
  • Perform configurations if necessary and communicate findings with other members of the health team.
  • Initiate and discharge patients from cardiac monitoring as ordered.

Requirements:

  • One (1) year medical/surgical nursing experience, with a focus on night shift.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Management of clinical skills in the provision of nursing care and management of the patient, including identification of symptoms, utilization of infection control procedures, and provision of health teaching and medication instructions.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • One (1) year medical/surgical nursing experience, with a focus on night shift.
