Job Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to lead our pharmacy team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities and functions of lead pharmacy technicians, pharmacy student interns, pharmacy technicians, and medication history technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight to ensure standard procedures are followed.
  • Evaluate and monitor team performance by auditing, tracking & trending, and educating & training.
  • Communicate feedback from observed performance and audits to leadership.
  • Direct and motivate individual daily performance toward organizational and departmental goals.
  • Develop schedule in coordination & approval of leadership. Manage timecards and attendance.
  • Develop tech workflow in collaboration with pharmacists, technicians, & leadership.
  • Develop training and onboarding materials for new staff.
  • Ensure required training and onboarding documentation is completed and approved by leadership.
  • Develop agenda for technician meetings and meets on a regular basis.
  • Oversee medication and pharmaceutical supply purchasing processes. Participate in recall process.
  • Assist with reviewing, writing, and creating policy & procedures.
  • Perform other duties as pharmacy technician when needed and supervisor as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • PTCB Certification (active).
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (active & in good standing) - Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection for those working in CT, Board of Pharmacy for those working in NY.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer skills, ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Completion of one to two years of college preferred.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work schedule is DAY 8.5, with a work shift of 9a-530p M-F.

Essential Functions
  • Some manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity.
  • Some occupational risk.
  • Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force.
  • Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
