About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced House Manager/Registered Nurse Lead to join our team at Bronson Battle Creek. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for supporting the operations and patient care services of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide administrative and clinical leadership to unit staff and ancillary departments, utilizing effective leadership skills to support staff, solve problems, and make appropriate decisions.
  • Crisis Management: Resolve crises and conflicts, providing analysis, assessment, and intervention for problems requiring immediate attention.
  • Communication: Coordinate communication with outside organizations or their representatives, including other healthcare facilities, law enforcement agencies, and the media.
  • Disaster Response: Manage the initial response in the event of a disaster, crisis, or emergency situation, notifying the incident commander and coordinating all activities until the incident commander arrives.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including the Substance Abuse Policy, and ensure appropriate testing when reasonable suspicion for abuse exists.
  • Employee Support: Answer calls for the Employee Incident Hot Line after hours, on weekends, and holidays, providing initial triage and directing employees to the ER as appropriate.
  • Bed Management: Coordinate placement of all admissions and transfers, communicating with Bronson First to coordinate all regional transfers.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Lead Bed Planning Meetings, working with the staffing office to ensure appropriate placement of available staff, and assigning or reassigning staff as necessary to maintain safe, competent levels of care in all areas.
Requirements
  • Education: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the state of Michigan.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience in the hospital or elsewhere.
  • Skills: Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment associated with the delivery of patient care on the floors, and ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively with visitors, physicians, hospital personnel, and administrative staff.
Working Conditions

The House Manager/Registered Nurse Lead will work in a fast-paced environment, with considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less), and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving patients. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required.
