Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Course Maintenance I employee to enhance our Agronomy team. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, along with Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay. Below is a general outline of the responsibilities associated with this role.

Compensation: $17.50 per hour

Work Schedule:
Monday - Thursday: 6am - 2:30pm
Friday: 6am - 11am
Availability for one weekend day (3 hours) is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing the golf course for daily operations, including:
    • Raking bunkers.
    • Cutting and trimming greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
    • Watering rough areas as needed.
  • Apply growth enhancers and manage disease control.
  • Utilize hand mowers, power mowers, weed trimmers, and brush cutters for grass cutting and weed trimming.
  • Plant grass, trees, shrubs, or flowers according to landscaping plans.
  • Distribute mulch in designated areas.
  • Remove weeds from around bushes, trees, and flower beds.
  • Perform general landscape maintenance using handheld tools.
  • Maintain sand bunkers through raking and upkeep.
  • Operate small machinery for edging, trimming, and mowing tasks.
  • Prepare soil beds for sod, seed, and other vegetative materials.
  • Assist with golf course setup procedures.
  • Utilize utility vehicles for transporting materials and debris removal.
  • Engage in general labor and cleaning related to maintenance equipment.
  • Deliver drinking water throughout the course.
  • Incorporate safe work practices into daily tasks.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

High school education is preferred; candidates should have up to one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this position include the ability to perform a full range of motion in both upper and lower body, reach overhead, and work in various positions such as standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods. Employees must be capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing materials and equipment, with the ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, pesticides, and mechanical hazards is expected. Extended hours may be required during peak seasons.
