Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Youth@Work Career Coach to join our team at JVS SoCal. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in helping disadvantaged youth achieve their career goals and become self-sufficient adults.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who is passionate about empowering young people to succeed. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-on-one coaching, group training, and outreach services to help youth develop the skills and confidence they need to secure employment and advance in their careers.

You will work closely with program participants to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and career aspirations, and develop personalized plans to help them achieve their goals. This may involve conducting assessments, creating job readiness training programs, and facilitating workshops on topics such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, and job search strategies.

In addition to working directly with youth, you will also be responsible for building relationships with local employers, schools, and community organizations to identify job opportunities and resources that can support our program participants.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, counseling, or a related field, and experience working with at-risk youth populations. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to youth participants
  • Develop and deliver job readiness training programs
  • Conduct assessments and create personalized career plans
  • Facilitate workshops and group training sessions

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth populations, preferably in an educational or counseling setting. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged youth, and a commitment to helping them overcome these obstacles. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
