Key Responsibilities- Provide Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient care, adhering to the philosophy and standards of the Department of Nursing.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications according to professional standards of practice and nursing policies and procedures.
- Documentation: Complete patient care documentation per established standards.
- Order Transcription: Transcribe or acknowledge doctor's orders as needed and carry out orders as directed.
- Admissions and Discharges: Process patient admissions and discharges per established guidelines.
- Wound Care: Monitor skin integrity, identify impairments, and request interventions to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Treatment Administration: Perform prescribed treatments, monitor progress, and adjust as needed.
- Patient Education: Provide patient and family teaching to ensure understanding of current situation.
- Mentoring and Teaching: Offer mentoring and teaching to healthcare team members as needed.
- Care Plan Development: Develop patient care plans per established standards.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- Licensure: Current LPN license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
- Skills: Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills using the English language; computer proficiency, with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
This role requires standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands requiring fine motor skills and sense of touch. The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds is also required. Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are essential.
