Join Our Team as a Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Ignite Achievement Academy. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs and learning differences in our life-skills (FLAME) program.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to support each child's individual instructional plan. You will accompany the class off-site 4-5 days a week as they work in the community, and assist the teacher throughout the day with differentiated instruction and one-on-one student support.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver supportive instruction aligning to the student's instructional plan
  • Collect data and observe student responses
  • Work closely with assigned students in small-groups and/or one-on-one
  • Assist the teacher with differentiated instruction and student support
  • Accompany the class off-site as needed
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree
  • Possess a passionate belief that all students are capable of success and learn in unique ways
  • Possess the desire to work 1-on-1 and in small groups with students
  • Possess the ability to build rapport with both the student and the parent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to establish a strong and supportive relationship with each assigned student
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a traditional background check and a motor vehicle driver's background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Classroom experience (teaching or assisting)
  • Teacher certification

We offer a competitive hourly wage for Teaching Assistants, dependent upon the candidate's skills and experience.
