Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide direct patient care, lead clinical teams, and promote a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel, ensuring a smooth transition to the team.
• Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and patient safety.
• Administer medication, document, and communicate clinical findings.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days.
• Nationally accredited nursing graduate.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient care and safety.

Working Conditions:

• Heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
• Significant hazard: chemicals, biohazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment.
