Evening Shift Supervisor

The Evening Shift Supervisor in Materials Management is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all scheduled and unscheduled delivery processes to patient care areas during the evening and night shifts. This role creates staffing schedules to ensure timely execution of services and makes specific shift assignments daily. The Evening Shift Supervisor resolves staffing coverage issues and assists in implementing staff training for Materials Management department staff. They have primary responsibility for maintaining mandatory in-service and ongoing education for evening and night staffs and supervise all Materials Management Evening/Night Shift staff. The Evening Shift Supervisor completes performance appraisals within required time frames using competency-based performance documents and performs quality monitoring in support of departmental metrics. They ensure shifts proceed in a spirit of continuous improvement and share Manager On Call responsibility with other Materials Management Managers on a rotating basis. The Evening Shift Supervisor conducts daily walk-throughs of unit supply locations to ensure they are properly stocked and organized. They schedule pick-ups and deliveries for equipment from the new Equipment warehouse and ensure all totes not completed by the evening shift are delivered and put away properly by the night shift. The Evening Shift Supervisor ensures Critical Stations are kept up and all carts and kits are complete and ready for issue. They monitor staff interaction with nursing staff to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and supervise the maintenance of the Distribution pick area, ensuring it is well-stocked and well-organized.
Responsibilities:

- Create staffing schedules to ensure timely execution of services.
- Make specific shift assignments daily and resolve staffing coverage issues.
- Assist in implementing staff training for Materials Management department staff.

- Supervise all Materials Management Evening/Night Shift staff.
- Complete performance appraisals within required time frames using competency-based performance documents.

Requirements:
- Associates Degree and three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong computer, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift 35 pounds to shoulder height required.
