Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Advanced Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team at Temple Rehabilitation Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation.

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide patient and family teaching throughout the rehabilitation stay and prior to discharge.
  • Provide care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Work cooperatively and actively participate with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement (CQPI).
  • Maintain positive relationships with all customers.
  • Promote rehabilitation nursing philosophy and scope of practice.
  • Actively participate in team conferences.
  • Perform timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
  • Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff and comply with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • Support the leadership for the hospital in a professional manner and act as a role model.

Qualifications

We require a Registered Nurse with a minimum six months' Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred, along with current state licensure as a Registered Nurse and CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS certification is also preferred. CRRN certification is a plus.
