Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings as directed by the supervising licensed speech-language pathologist.
  • Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) as designed by the supervising licensed speech-language pathologist.
  • Conduct carry-over activities to transfer students' newly acquired communication abilities to other contexts and situations.
  • Collect data and share with supervising licensed speech-language pathologists to assist with the development of progress reports.
  • Prepare therapy materials and work with classroom teachers to implement classroom activities to improve communication skills.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communicative science and disorders.
  • Texas Speech Language Pathology - Assistant license.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of speech-language disorders and conditions.
  • Fifty hours of clinical observation and assisting experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. You will also be exposed to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.
