Job Summary:

The Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic will perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision. This role requires a high level of mechanical expertise and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components.
  • Troubleshoot major problems and provide solutions.
  • Work with and train Apprentice Technicians to develop their skills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area, and handle company tools properly.
  • Advise the Service Foreman on additional repair work required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain favorable relations with customers.
  • Participate in training to stay up-to-date with new technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Requirements:
  • CDL certification.
  • A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector certifications.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience or vocational training in diesel mechanics.
  • Necessary tools to perform the position.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
