Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist/Radiology Specialist to join our team at Industrial Staffing Services Inc dba Equiliem. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans and related procedures, ensuring accurate and timely results for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex CT procedures, utilizing professional judgment to review and obtain patient clinical history.
  • Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires with patients and/or family members, ensuring accurate documentation and scanning into EPIC.
  • Identify and/or administer contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
  • Verify patient prescriptions, communicating with radiologists and referring physicians as needed to obtain additional clinical information or new prescriptions.
  • Responsible for calling physicians to clarify prescriptions in accordance with CT protocols.
  • Verify insurance authorized exam scripts and send modification forms to Finance for re-verification.
  • Obtain outside studies (CDs) and schedule them in EPIC, ensuring availability for radiologists to compare.
  • Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians/family members.
  • Evaluate radiographs using PACS to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Use consistent techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
  • Determine patient preparation for procedures, including shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Determine appropriate contrast type and dose for administration.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients, addressing and documenting questions and concerns.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Monitor patients' physical condition for adverse reactions during procedures.
  • Work scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, with overtime as needed to provide quality patient care.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, including Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
  • Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
  • Modify and deliver care specific to patient needs, communicating with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their level.
  • Adhere to Medical Center's Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
Requirements
  • BLS certification required.
  • Must have experience working in a hospital system.
  • Registered CT Tech or 2 years' experience performing CT scans.
  • New York State DOH license to inject contrast media.
  • Proficiency in Siemens scanner operation.
  • This position also requires X-ray administration.
