Job Summary
The technician will coordinate with the Service Manager to organize their work and travel itinerary in the local area. Utilizing a company-supplied vehicle, you will visit customer residences to conduct repair services and preventative maintenance on whole home standby generators. Strong verbal communication and customer service skills will be essential as you interact directly with our clients.

The standard work schedule is typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, though it may adjust to meet customer needs, particularly during adverse weather conditions or emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer locations using the company vehicle
  • Engage directly with customers regarding arrival times, services performed, and issues addressed
  • Install generators on the gas side
  • Adhere to technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and established procedures
  • Test, troubleshoot, and operate automatic transfer switches
  • Document services performed using electronic systems
  • Comply with all safety regulations and practices
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities (both verbal and written)
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Proficient reading and comprehension skills for technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and blueprints
  • Capability to safely operate company vehicles to various customer locations
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in mechanical small engine repair
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including bending, stooping, climbing, and walking on uneven surfaces
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Good eyesight to perform mechanical repairs safely
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Must be able to drive company vehicles to job sites
