Job Title: Material Handler - Operations / Warehouse / Distribution

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Hanover Park, IL. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the orderly, timely, and correct flow of materials and product on the distribution center floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve and distribute materials, inspecting them for packaging and preparing them for shipment or storage.
  • Operate a cherry picker/order platform picker as part of the job.
  • Sort and locate materials from the floor to surplus locations.
  • Retrieve and count product to fulfill customer orders and inter-warehouse transfers.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and timely for each order.
  • Wrap and weight pallets using a stretch wrapper.
  • Scan orders using RF equipment to pallet license plates.
  • Operate all types of power industrial lift equipment and maintain assigned equipment.
  • Actively participate in general housekeeping activities.
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory activities.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate all power industrial lift trucks and pass fork lift license requirements.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with or without hand-held calculators.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 US pounds.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
  • Proficient in using RF scanners.
