Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Therapy Delivery: Collaborate with licensed SLPs to facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions for students experiencing speech and language challenges.
  • Execute Therapy Plans: Implement tailored therapy plans and activities as directed by SLPs, focusing on exercises and interventions that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Conduct Evaluations: Aid in the administration of assessments and screenings to assess students' speech and language capabilities.
  • Track Progress: Maintain accurate documentation of students' progress and prepare reports as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Educational Staff: Engage with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to enhance students' overall educational experience.
  • Provide Classroom Support: Assist students in applying skills learned during therapy to their academic activities.
  • Prepare Therapeutic Materials: Develop and organize therapy resources, including visual aids and interactive tools to enrich therapy sessions.
  • Ensure Confidentiality: Uphold the confidentiality of student records and information in line with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Special Education, or a related discipline.
  • Certification: Valid California SLPA license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience: Experience working with children in educational or clinical environments is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, collaborative mindset, and proficiency in office software and therapeutic tools.
  • Personal Qualities: Empathetic, patient, and dedicated to supporting students in achieving their communication objectives.
