Advanced Cardiovascular Intensivist APRN

The Advanced Cardiac & Vascular APRN provides direct patient care services for complex critically ill adult patients in the ICU-CV setting in collaboration with and under the supervision of the indicated surgeon, EP or Cardiologist. The APN performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, coordinates the care and discharge of patients, and provides direct patient care services. The APRN contributes to excellence in patient care. The APRN collaborates with the Intensivist and the Intensivist Program members to ensure coordination of care. The APRN is able to care for and provide consultation for advanced mechanical support such as ECMO, LVAD, IMPELLA etc.

• Perform physical exams and collect and document data
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations
• Prescribe appropriate interventions and medications
• Coordinate the care and discharge of patients
• Provide direct patient care services

• Licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse
• Certification by a national certifying body with prescriptive privileges
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Two years of experience as an RN with at least one year in the ICU Cardiac & Vascular setting
