Police Officer

As a Police Officer with the City of Cookeville, you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety and enforcing laws and ordinances. This position requires excellent physical condition, agility, and strength, as well as the ability to work in all weather extremes. You will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, conducting investigations, and interacting with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

• Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public safety

• Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be 21 years of age, and possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License. You must also meet the Minimum Standards Law (TCA 38-8-106) and have 60 semester hours in criminal justice, police science, sociology, or other law enforcement-related courses.

This position requires working in all weather extremes, including extreme heat and cold. You must also be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
